USM Undergoes CHED Evaluation for BSIT, BS Biology Programs
April 17, 2026
The University of Southern Mindanao (USM), through the Environmental Management Committee in partnership with the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Carabao Center (DA-PCC) at USM, held a meeting with the university’s utility workers to discuss plans aligned with the recently issued strict implementation notice on April 20, 2026 at University Commercial Building, USM, Kabacan, Cotabato.
The discussion focused on the enforcement of the No Single-Use Plastics (SUPs) Policy, proper waste disposal practices, and the strict observance of designated parking areas within the campus. These measures aim to maintain a clean, orderly, and environmentally sustainable university environment.

The meeting was spearheaded by Dr. Geoffray R. Atok, Director of DA-PCC at USM, together with Dr. Lawrence Anthony U. Dollente of the University Quality Assurance Office (UQAO), Mr. Renante Montero, and Ms. Justine Mae Molina, also from UQAO.
Utility workers were given the opportunity to share their concerns, challenges, and feedback regarding the implementation of the new guidelines. They were also consulted on the tools and equipment needed to support their cleaning and maintenance tasks across the campus.
In addition, the group discussed work schedules and plans for upcoming bayanihan activities, ensuring proper coordination and participation of utility workers in campus-wide clean-up and maintenance efforts.
The initiative follows the issuance of a strict implementation notice by USM, which was posted on the university’s official Facebook page on April 15, 2026, as part of its continuing efforts to strengthen campus discipline and environmental management.
