Graduate students, faculty members, researchers, and representatives from various agencies took part in a three-day training on data analysis and visualization using R on October 14–16, 2026, at the College of Business, Development Economics, and Management, University of Southern Mindanao (USM), Kabacan, Cotabato.
The training was organized by the USM Satellite Socio-Economic Research and Data Analytics Center (SERDAC), with Christopher Llones, PhD, director of the Visayas Socio-Economic Research and Data Analytics Center (ViSERDAC), serving as resource person.

The workshop introduced participants to the use of R, a free, open-source software environment for statistical computing and graphics. Using R, researchers can organize and clean data, conduct statistical analyses, and present findings through visualizations.

The training aimed to equip participants with data analysis skills and statistical methods that they can employ in their research and professional work, to include planning, monitoring and evaluation, and data management.
Through activities like this, USM Satellite SERDAC continues to provide opportunities for students, researchers, and professionals to improve their skills in working with data and use research findings to support decisions in their respective fields.
