A total of 178 traders took part in the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) Trade Fair 2026 Orientation on September 15, in preparation for the opening of this year’s fair.

The Business Development Center (BDC), together with the Security Services and Management Office, conducted the orientation to brief traders on their booth assignments, Trade Fair rules and guidelines, and important safety and security measures.

Representing the Office of the Vice President for Resource Generation and Entrepreneurial Services (OVPRGES), BDC Director Dr. Esmaira G.  Gunsayan welcomed the traders and emphasized the importance of their cooperation in keeping the event organized and safe.

“It is also an opportunity to build partnerships, promote entrepreneurship, support our local businesses, and bring the University community closer to our business partners and stakeholders,” Gunsayan said.

She also emphasized the importance of cooperation and clear coordination among traders and organizers to keep the event orderly, particularly with the number of participants and activities over the course of the fair.

The orientation also provided an opportunity for traders to raise concerns and clarify matters before the fair officially opened, particularly on booth arrangements, electricity and water arrangements, cleanliness, and safety and security protocols.

This year’s Trade Fair will feature a total of 298 stalls, consisting of 193 food stalls and 105 non-food stalls.

The fair will run from September 16 to October 1, 2026. The curfew will be at 10:00 p.m. from September 16 to 24 and will run until 12:00 midnight from September 25 to October 1.
