
USM-ESO Partners with Antipas LGU, Durian Farmers to Drive Research-Based Radio Extension Program

The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) Kundo E. Pahm Learning Resource Center (KEPLRC) received a collection of books from Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF) on September 10, 2026, at USM, Kabacan, Cotabato.
Atty. Marites Barrios-Taran, the KWF Commissioner, handed over the books to the KEPLRC Director, Prof. Susan Martinez and KEPLRC Librarians. Also present during the turnover were Commissioner Carmelita Abdulrahman, one of the commissioners, Dr. Debbie Marie B. Verzosa, the USM VP for Research Development and Extension, Dr. Radji R. Macatabon, the USM Sentro ng Wika at Kultura (SWK) Director, and the KWF staff.

Prof. Martinez thanked the KWF for the donation, saying that the books will provide additional resources for students, researchers, faculty, and staff.
“Taos-puso ang aming pasasalamat sa KWF sa bukas-palad na pagkakaloob ng mga aklat ng KWF palagi sa USM-KEPLRC. Ang donasyon ay malaking ambag sa pagpapayaman ng aming koleksiyon at serbisyo para sa aming mga mambabasa,” the KEPLRC Director said.
She also expressed her appreciation for KWF’s support for the Lakbay Silid-Aklatan Project, which helps bring books, knowledge, language, and culture closer to communities.
“Lubos din naming pinahahalagahan ang inyong suporta sa Lakbay Silid-Aklatan Project. Sa inyong pakikiisa, mas napapalawak natin ang access sa aklat, kaalaman, wika, at kultura sa mga komunidad. Maraming salamat sa inyong malasakit, tiwala, at patuloy na pakikipagtulungan sa USM,” she added.
Among the books donated are storybooks, dictionaries, “Aklat para sa Bayan,” and other resources written and published by Filipino authors.
