The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) held a soft launching of the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) Project during the Monday Convocation program on June 8, 2026, at the Administration Building, USM, Kabacan, Cotabato.

HRIS is a project that aims to improve and modernize how USM manages its human resources. It will provide a single, secure, and reliable system for handling employee records, appointments, plantilla positions, leave records, payroll data, performance details, and other important personnel transactions.

With the ongoing challenges caused by manual processes, scattered records, repeated data encoding, delayed report generation, and inconsistent information among offices, the HRIS, authorized personnel can easily access accurate data needed for administrative, financial, and management decision-making.

The HRIS is accessible through both web and mobile platforms, allowing authorized users to securely access, update, validate, monitor, and retrieve HR-related information anytime and within approved access privileges. This improves convenience, responsiveness, and service delivery for HR personnel, administrative offices, and university employees.

Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel, the USM President, expressed appreciation for finally having the system for easy, faster, and convenient HR transactions.

According to Dr. Nerissa G. Dela Viña, Director of the Human Resource Development Management Office, the system is scheduled for full launch in August 2026. Users can also download the system and its application for laptops and mobile phones within the same month.
