USM Joins Project Lemnaw
July 30, 2026
The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) earned accreditation from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and officially received its Certificate of Accreditation on June 11, 2026.
The recognition affirms that USM has met the Commission’s accreditation requirements and is now recognized as an NCCA-accredited proponent.
Dr. Glyn G. Magbanua, Director of the USM Extension Services Office, led the University’s accreditation efforts and guided the preparation and submission of the requirements.
The accreditation recognizes government agencies that have demonstrated the capability and credibility to implement programs and projects that promote, preserve, develop, and conserve Philippine culture and the arts. As an accredited institution, USM becomes eligible to submit project proposals and access funding support from the NCCA.
The National Commission for Culture and the Arts serves as the country’s policy-making, coordinating, and grant-giving agency for Philippine arts and culture. It also administers the National Endowment Fund for Culture and the Arts (NEFCA), which finances approved cultural and artistic programs and projects nationwide.
