The University of Southern Mindanao (USM), together with the Disc Golf Association of the Philippines (DGAP) and the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA), held the Disc Golf Development Seminar and Skills Clinic on May 21–23, 2026 at the USM Auditorium.

The three-day event gathered Physical Education teachers, students, sports enthusiasts, and community leaders from different institutions across the province. The activity aimed to promote disc golf as an emerging sport and train participants using standard PDGA guidelines.

Participants learned the history, rules, and basic principles of disc golf before joining hands-on training on throwing techniques, putting, and course familiarization. On the final day, participants applied their learning through advanced strategies and friendly games.

Coach Luisa B. Robins and the DGAP Team led the sessions and helped make the training successful. The event also encouraged collaboration among educators and sports advocates to introduce disc golf in school physical education programs. Participants appreciated the opportunity to learn a sport that promotes fitness, inclusivity, and community involvement.

The organizers also thanked Dr. Che Abdulshaik F. Plang for sponsoring the event and supporting sports development and youth engagement.

The successful seminar marks another step for USM and its partners in promoting inclusive and innovative sports programs. Organizers hope the activity will further develop disc golf in Mindanao and create more educational and recreational opportunities in the future.
