USM Wins 2nd place in Policy Brief for AANR Sector Contest

Three students received ₱10,000 each as scholarship grants from the University of Southern Mindanao Founder’s Legacy Association, Inc. (USM FLAI) during the celebration of the 8th Hadja Bai Fatima Matabay Namli Plang Day on April 13, 2026.
The said students were Gershon D. Mansayagan, Helga Mae M. Lintongan, and Dalvin Carlo John C. Lomawon.
In her update on the USM FLAI, Dr. Anita Tacardon shared that, through the support of members, donors, and friends, the association extended the assistance to six graduating students. The beneficiaries are composed of two students from the Bangsamoro sector, two from the Indigenous Peoples sector, and two from the Christian sector.
However, some applicants did not complete the required screening and submission of documents due to their on-the-job training commitments, hence only three students were formally presented as beneficiaries during the program.
The cash assistance is intended to support academic requirements, particularly for thesis defense and the printing and hardbound binding of their manuscripts.
Prof. Khadiguia O. Balah, a faculty member from the College of Arts and Social Sciences, facilitated the presentation.
