USM Receives CSC Certificate of Registration for CNA

The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) continues to participate in international university rankings, with the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2026 as its latest entry.
USM ranked 900th among 2,016 universities from 110 countries. It placed 525th in Asia and 50th among universities in the Philippines.
In Region XII, USM and Mindanao State University–General Santos City (MSU-GSC) were the only universities that participated in the 2026 rankings.
UI GreenMetric evaluates universities based on seven areas of sustainability: Setting and Infrastructure, Energy and Climate Change, Waste, Water, Transportation, Education and Research, and Governance and Digitalization, the newest area added in the 2026 rankings.
The ranking looks at how universities put sustainability into practice through their facilities and operations, as well as in education, research, and community involvement.
According to the UI GreenMetric website, the Governance and Digitalization pillar was added to highlight the role of good governance, transparent leadership, and digital tools in managing university resources and supporting sustainability.
