The SOCCSKSARGEN Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development Consortium (SOXAARRDEC) planted cacao seedlings for the Community Upliftment Programs and Services (CUPS), A Regional Initiative for the Advancement of the Consortium’s Priority Commodities, on July 22, 2026, at Nangaan High School, Nangaan Old Kaabakan, SGA, BARMM. Moreover, monitoring of the planted cacao seedling in Nangaan Elementary School was conducted.

Dr. Julius Jerome G. Ele, Consortium Director, along with Dr. Mark Al-Jamie J. Muttulani, Deputy Consortium Director, and Dr. Monaira Sumael, Associate Dean of the USM College of Agriculture, University of Southern Mindanao, visited Nangaan High School (NHS) and Nangaan Elementary School (NES) to monitor the Cacao Production Sites.


The SOXAARRDEC and USM team was warmly welcomed by Ms. Sarah Jean Salapudin, Head Teacher, NES, and Mr. Wency G. Pacheca, Head Teacher, NHS, along with the teaching force, parents, and students of the said schools.

SOXAARRDEC awarded certificates to the participants and collaborators of CUPS. It was followed by a ceremonial planting of cacao seedlings and the installation of markers.
