The Graduate School of Holy Trinity College of General Santos conducted a benchmarking visit to the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) on September 8, 2026, to learn from the university’s practices in curriculum development, research management, and quality assurance, with a focus on graduate education.
The visiting faculty members, led by Graduate School Dean Dr. Lily Grace Mallare-Morales, engaged USM officials and faculty in discussions on curriculum development, review and revision, outcome-based education, curriculum mapping, research policies and management, and research productivity and dissemination.
The discussions also covered USM’s quality assurance mechanisms, accreditation practices, monitoring and evaluation processes, and other initiatives aimed at strengthening academic quality and graduate education.
Meanwhile, the benchmarking visit provided an avenue for both institutions to exchange practices and insights on managing and strengthening graduate programs, particularly in areas that support academic quality and research productivity.
The activity was attended by USM President Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel, Director for International Affairs Prof. Bryan Lloyd P. Bretaña, Graduate School Dean Dr. Philip Lester P. Benjamin, and faculty members of the USM Graduate School.
