New Academic Leaders Assume Posts at USM

General Marc M. Bangoy, the 17-year-old Grade XII STEM student of the University of Southern Mindanao – University Laboratory School (USM-ULS), is one victory away from bringing home the gold after advancing to the finals of the Singapore Youth Archery Championship on July 3, 2026, at Bukit Gombak Stadium in Singapore.

The Philippines’ top-ranked youth recurve archer, secured his place in the championship match of the Recurve Under-18 Boys Olympic Round category. He will compete for the gold medal on July 5, 2026.

Bangoy, who finished fourth in the qualification round, delivered a major upset by defeating Taiwan’s Chen Yuming, the tournament’s top qualifier and No. 1 seed, in the semifinals.

With the victory, Bangoy moves one step closer to the championship title while adding another remarkable achievement to his growing archery career and giving the Philippines a chance to claim gold on the international stage.
