ESO Welcomes USG Dept. of Outreach, Extension for Consultation

The Extension Services Office (ESO) welcomed the University Student Government (USG) Department of Outreach and Extension in a consultation meeting on September 23, 2026, at the Office of the Director for Extension Services.

The consultation meeting aimed to align the student government’s outreach initiatives with the university’s official extension framework and standards.

ESO Director Glyn B. Gabano-Magbanua led the meeting, providing the USG officers with information on the processes of crafting and submitting proposals, as well as the necessary forms and attachments to properly document the activities. She also emphasized the need to conduct a community needs assessment to ensure that all outreach programs are responsive, relevant, and grounded in the actual needs of target communities.

“Napakahalagang alamin muna natin ang kalagayan ng communities, their source of income, resources, and even the people that live there, kaya kailangan muna nating mag-conduct ng community needs assessment para malaman lahat ng bagay na ‘yun,” she expressed.

Already equipped with knowledge on the extension guidelines and proposal procedures, the USG is set to submit proposals, aiming to establish a partnership with the ESO to execute their planned initiatives.

The consultation served as a collaborative bridge to empower student leaders in delivering impactful community extension activities. This underscored the Extension Services Office’s (ESO) commitment to fostering student-led community involvement while ensuring sustainable development.
