President Pimentel Encourages NSTP Graduates to Revive Spirit of Bayanihan

Dr. Tamie C. Solpot is now the Dean of the College of Agriculture (CA) following the official turnover of responsibilities held today, May 26, 2026, at the CA Lobby, University of Southern Mindanao (USM), Kabacan, Cotabato.

Outgoing dean Dr. Efren E. Magulama expressed appreciation for the support he received from faculty members during his term. He encouraged the college community to continue supporting the new dean and affirmed his confidence in Dr. Solpot’s ability to further advance the college and the university.

In his acceptance message, Dr. Solpot expressed gratitude for the trust and confidence given to him. He said he accepted the designation with humility and appreciation. Prior to his appointment, he served as the Director of the Philippine Industrial Crops Research Institute (PICRI).

USM President Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel graced the turnover ceremony and commended Dr. Magulama for his leadership, noting that during his term, the College of Agriculture helped bring USM national recognition from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) as one of the top-performing schools in the Licensure Examination for Agriculture (LEA). He also encouraged Dr. Solpot to sustain or further improve this achievement.

Dr. Solpot’s term will officially begin on June 1, 2026.
