Prof. Ruben L. Tagare, Jr., a faculty member of the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) from the Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (ISPEAR), secured the 5th rank in the Top 10 Scientists for Physical Education and Sports Science in the Philippines as released by the Philippines Scientists Education/Physical Education and Sport Science Rankings in the Philippines through the AD Scientific Index 2024. The AD Scientific Index report is an international independent ranking organization that analyses the academic performance of scientists using the H-index and i10 index number of citations and provides outcomes to evaluate the productivity and efficiency of individuals and institutions. Among the Top 10 scientists were from Don Honorio Ventura State University, Visayas State University, San Beda University, Laguna State Polytechnic University, University of Southern Mindanao, Mabalacat City College, Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology, University of Immaculate Conception, and Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University.
