
USM Hosts Benchmarking Activity for Cotabato State University

University of Southern Mindanao (USM) President Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel, together with the members of the Administrative Council, paid a courtesy visit to Cotabato Province Governor Emmylou T. Mendoza today, November 3, 2025, at the Governor’s Office, Provincial Capitol, Amas, Kidapawan City.
During the visit, Governor Emmylou T. Mendoza expressed her gratitude to the USM delegation for visiting her at her office. She reassured the group of her full support for the university’s programs and endeavors.
Governor Mendoza said she is confident in USM’s competitiveness, and commended the professionalism and dedication of its leaders, researchers, faculty, and staff. She emphasized that these qualities make her fully supportive of the university, particularly in its research initiatives.
“USM is very competitive, I am so happy with your professionalism and dedication, hence I do not hesitate helping and supporting USM,” the Governor underscored.
The Governor also shared her delight in seeing students grow and gain industry exposure. She referred to the students she recently sent to Singapore for an Educational Visit and Cultural Innovation Immersion Program, noting that such opportunities contribute greatly to students’ improvement and global perspective.
Rep. Raymond Democrito C. Mendoza, Representative of the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP), also took part in the meeting and reaffirmed his strong commitment to support the University of Southern Mindanao (USM). He expressed his dedication to working closely with the Provincial Government of Cotabato and the 3rd District of Cotabato to advance the university’s initiatives and development programs.
President Pimentel initiated the visit as courtesy to the Governor following the 2025 elections. He expressed gratitude to the continued support of the provincial government and TUCP to the students, researchers, faculty members, and staff of USM over the years.
