USM-UQAO briefs trade fair vendors on No SUP policy

The University of Southern Mindanao through the University Quality Assurance Office (UQAO) gathered the USM trade fair vendors for an orientation session regarding the no single-use plastic (SUPs) policy of the University on September 18, 2024, in front of CBDEM building, USM, Kabacan, Cotabato.

During the event, Lawrence Anthony U. Dollente, PhD., Director of UQAO, encouraged the vendors to support the advocacy of the university by using reuseable and biodegradable items such as paper straws, wooden spoon and fork, and eco bags as substitute for cellophane bags. Dr. Dollente also suggested to increase item cost, if necessary, which was also supported by Samsudin S. Panday, PhD., the Vice President for Resource Generation and Entrepreneurial Services (VPRGES).

The conversation aims to ensure that the policies against SUPs will still be observed and implemented especially during the PASIKLABAN 2024 season.
