March 6, 2024As the second semester of School Year 2023-2024 starts, the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) gathered the students of USM Libungan for an orientation, medical mission, and meet and greet with USM President Francisco Gil N. Garcia on February 26, 2024, at USM-Libungan Campus, Barangay Montay, Libungan, Cotabato.
In his message, President Garcia expressed his appreciation upon seeing the campus development in Montay. He said that USM and the municipality of Libungan will continue to work together for the progress of the community.
Libungan Mayor Angel Rose L. Cuan also graced the activity. She emphasized her gratitude for the strong partnership of the USM Libugan campus with the local government of Libungan.
Dr. Leida Donque, the Office of Students Affairs (OSA) director, presented the services of OSA for the students. She also talked about the scholarships, the accreditation of societies and organizations, and the role of the student officers on the campus. Along with this, Ms. Sheryn Villaruz, the budget officer of the university, discussed the utilization funds processes and the documents needed.
Concurrently, medical doctors and personnel from the USM Hospital conducted medical and dental checkups for the students. Distribution of vitamins and medicines to students was also done.
Dr. Jacinta Pueyo, the USM Libungan campus head, underscored her delight in the conduct of the activity, especially for the supplies given to students and the whole initiative for the campus.
In the afternoon, the USM delegates paid a courtesy visit to the Municipality of Aleosan Mayor Eduardo C. Cabaya to discuss the University services for the USM Aleosan campus. Also tackled during the visit were the accomplishments of USM Aleosan Campus for the school year 2023-2024, the site development plan, challenges encountered, and the strategies to improve the implementation.
The activity is anchored to strengthening the services of the cluster campuses of the university with its goal of creating positive changes in the community.
