December 3, 2024Prof. Marcos F. Monderin, JD, the Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) of the University of Southern Mindanao (USM), presented the academic achievements from 2014 to 2024 of the university through Pag-uulat 2024 on December 2, 2024, at the USM Commercial Building in Kabacan, Cotabato.
Prof. Monderin highlighted the major advancements that have shaped USM’s academic landscape. The report included the establishment of two landmark programs: the College of Medicine and the College of Law, both of which signify USM’s dedication to addressing the educational needs in the region.
Also, the presentation highlighted structural changes in selected academic programs. USM shortened some degree programs from four years to three years, including BS Development Communication, BA in English Language, AB Philosophy, BS Applied Mathematics, BS Applied Physics, AB Political Science, and AB Psychology.
Meanwhile, another portion of the report was the reduction from 4 for 3.5 years of some programs such as Bachelor of Elementary Education, BS Education majors in Math, English, Science, Filipino, and Social Studies and Bachelor of Early Childhood Education.
The VPAA also detailed the university’s consistent performance in licensure examinations and announced the upgrading of incentive schemes for board examination topnotchers and placers.
University officials, faculty, staff, and stakeholders attended the activity, reflecting the collective efforts of the USM academic community over the past decade.
