Delegates from South Cotabato State College (SCSC) visited the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) on February 6, 2025, to observe the university’s quality assurance systems and its Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (ABE) program. The SCSC team gained firsthand insights into USM’s processes for maintaining academic standards, managing accreditation, and ensuring program effectiveness.
Facilitated by the University Quality Assurance Office (UQAO), the visit included a presentation by UQAO officials, led by Dr. Lawrence Anthony U. Dollente, who discussed the university’s quality assurance framework, highlighting internal audit processes, accreditation, and monitoring of program performance. The discussion also touched on strategies for maintaining program standards and compliance with Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP).
SCSC delegates, headed by Dr. Joebert C. Legreso, Vice President for Academic Affairs, were toured around key offices within the Administration Building to understand how operational processes and support services contribute to overall university management.
The visit also provided an opportunity to showcase the ABE program under the College of Engineering and Information Technology. Faculty members discussed the program’s curriculum, industry linkages, and the various ways they prepare students for the licensure examination.
