In the form of a benchmark, the University of Southern Mindanao welcomed personnel from the 6th Infantry Division particularly their Division of Public Affairs Office (DPAO) to advance Division’s commitment to information dissemination through publication and multimedia production on July 31, 2025, at the Office of the President, USM Administration Building, Kabacan, Cotabato.

Composing the team from 6ID were Sergeant Frankie Geca and four Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) namely Corporal Mylene Jenne Kinazo, and Private First-Class (PFC) Officers Anthony Nene, Rhoderick Beñez, and Roland Ortillano.

The team visited The Mindanao Tech, DXVL, and University Multimedia Production Center (UMPC) respectively, gaining significant insights from each of the offices on media communication skills.

As a former DXVL reporter and news writer, PFC Rhoderick Beñez expressed his gratitude to USM specifically to The Mindanao Tech with the support of its dynamic adviser, Professor Lloyd Anton Von M. Colita for sharing time on extending their service through imparting relevant ideas in conceptualizing magazines, writing articles and capturing photographs—all are integral in their publication operations.

The activity was part of 6th ID’s strategic efforts to improve the quality and relevance of their official publication, the Kampilan Journal and their digital information outlet, Kampilan News.
