The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) sent 16 employees to the National Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) Training for Program Accreditation held at the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP), Davao City, on August 12 to 14, 2024.
The focus was on enhancing the participants’ knowledge and skills in quality assurance for program accreditation across levels, including preliminary survey visits and levels I – IV.
The event featured intensive sessions led by officials from AACCUP covering essential aspects of the accreditation process, such as writing a summary of findings and recommendations. The training aims to prepare the participants to contribute effectively to the ongoing University quality assurance initiatives.
Dr. Lawrence Anthony Dollente, the USM Quality Assurance Office Director, played a pivotal role in this event as a lecturer. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of AACCUP, further highlighting his significant contributions to quality assurance in higher education.
The participation of the representatives was possible through the efforts of Dr. Dollente and the strong support of University President Dr. Francisco Gil N. Garcia. Their commitment to fostering excellence in higher education was evident throughout the event.
Prof. Bryan Lloyd Bretaña led the Region XII team and presented their collaborative output during the final presentation. The team was recognized as one of the two best groups among seventeen (17) participating regions, showcasing the participants’ dedication and commitment to elevating the standards of academic programs at USM.
