Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) of the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) held its annual Presentation of Sponsors and Review on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the USM Parade Ground, Kabacan, Cotabato.
USM President Jonald Pimentel graced the occasion as the guest of honor and speaker. In his address, he commended the cadets for their dedication and highlighted the significance of ROTC in fostering patriotism, leadership, and service among the youth. Reflecting on his own experience as a battalion commander during high school, where he led his unit for two years, he shared, “That is the essence of what ROTC teaches us—not just how to follow orders, but how to lead with integrity, courage, and commitment.”
The ceremony featured the formal introduction of sponsors, followed by a pass-in-review, where cadets displayed their military training through a synchronized parade. The event was attended by ROTC officials, members of the USM administrative council, faculty, and military representatives, all expressing their support for the program’s role in shaping future leaders.
The Presentation of Sponsors and Review remains a significant tradition at USM, reinforcing the university’s commitment to character development and national service through ROTC training. The event showcased the discipline, leadership, and preparedness of its cadets.
