From hospital to frontlines: USM personnel to help man COVID-19 checkpoints

University of Southern Mindanao is taking its medical care on the road to reach USM students, faculty, and staff who need quick healthcare assistance. The USM Mobile Clinic and USM Hospital Online Clinic are two of the initiatives launched to continue provide medical assistance to USM stakeholders in this time of COVID-19 pandemic.
The USM Mobile Clinic kicked off on April 13 and 14, 2020. USM Hospital nurses Roanne T. Osis and Rogeanne M. Testado provided our USM stakeholders living within Kabacan free check-up and consultation.
Through the online Faculty Daily Time Record (FDTR), the health status of the faculty members is monitored. Once the faculty members reported that they are not feeling well, the USM Mobile Clinic visits them and provides healthcare services in the comforts of their homes.
USM students are also contacted and monitored by the Office of Student Affairs.
For USM students, USM employees, and USM dependents who are not residents of Kabacan, the USM Hospital (USMH) launched its Online Clinic on March 23, 2020. According to the facilitator USMH nurse Ralph Abellera, those from outside Kabacan can refer online for proper and free medical advice.
This initiative provides free online consultation from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Health conditions are being referred to the resident doctors of USMH for proper prescription of medicines if necessary.
