As one of the advocacies of USM President Jonald L. Pimentel, PhD to work hand in hand with stakeholders, a courtesy visit by the members of USM Retirees’ Association (USMRA) were welcomed on February 18, 2025, at the office of the president, USM Administrative Building, Kabacan, Cotabato.
Dr. Antonio Tacardon, President of USMRA raised one of the concerns of the association. “We would want to solicit the support of your administration in our effort to recruit the retirees of the University to become our member.” Tacardon said.
In addition, Nicholas Turnos, Vice President of USMRA explained the importance of registering other USM retirees to the association. Turnos further elaborated the advantages of being a member of the association by emphasizing the right to have certain benefits the association can offer to each member in times of need.
Despite the concerns of the retirees, President Pimentel extended his dynamic support giving a firm assurance to advocate for a strong and visible presence of the association in the university in the coming days. “Thank you kaayo sa support. Rest assured I will be supporting you.” Pimentel vowed.
USM Retirees’ Association is one of the significant partners of USM in building networks with the university’s former employees. The visit, as a form recognizing the new leader of the administration, served as a way of sustaining good mutual relationships of both parties.
