Three USM Alumni awarded Regional PSABE Outstanding Engineers

A total of 350 students from the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) Main Campus received financial assistance from the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) and 3rd District Representative Cong. Ma. Alana Samantha T. Santos for the Tulong Dunong Scholarship Program on February 5, 2025, at the USM Commercial Building, Kabacan, Cotabato.
USM received the fund amounting to 2.625 million pesos where each student received 7,500 pesos.
During the program, Hon. Ella Taliño Taray, representing Cong. Mendoza, encouraged the students to make the most of their college years and emphasized the importance of completing their education.
Board Member Karen De Guzman, representing Cong. Santos, urged the scholars to utilize the financial assistance wisely, stating, “We hope that you use the funds not only to sustain yourselves but also to survive and finish your degrees.”
Dr. Rody P. Garcia, USM Officer-in-Charge President and CHEDRO XII Regional Director, also attended the event. Addressing the students, he asked, “Kayo ba ang pag asa ng bayan?” (Are you the hope of our nation?) to which they responded with a resounding “Yes.” He reminded them of their responsibility to study diligently and contribute their best to society.
TUCP Representative Cong. Raymond Democrito C. Mendoza in partnership with Cotabato Governor Emmylou “Lala” Taliño Mendoza and Cong. Santos along with the USM Office of Student Affairs (OSA) spearheaded and facilitated the scholarship distribution.
