The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) conducted training on Intellectual Property Protection and Patent/Utility Model Applications for USM employees on April 24, 2024, at USM Skyroom, Administration Building, USM, Kabacan, Cotabato.
Dr. Debbie Marie B. Verzosa, the Vice President for Research and Development Extension (VPRDE), said that the training aims to prioritize the utilization and commercialization of technology within USM.
Meanwhile, Dr. Julius Jerome G. Ele led the discussion about Intellectual Property and Engr. Tito Jun T. Tidula on the demonstration for prior art research.
The participants, who underwent pre-test and post-test, presented their Invention Matrix as part of the workshop.
The training was spearheaded by the Intellectual Property, Transfer Technology, Business Development Office (IPTTBDO) in coordination with the Office of the Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension and the USM Futures Thinking Program.
