The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) received another Plaque of Recognition from the Professional Regulatory Board of Criminology for its outstanding performance in the February 2025 Licensure Examination for Criminologists on March 30, 2025, at the at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.
USM ranked Top 1 in Category D, with 100% passing rate. This category includes Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) with 30 to 50 examinees and at least 80% passing rate.
USM former President Dr. Francisco Gil N. Garcia, along present USM President Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel, College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) Dean Dr. Marlyn A. Resurreccion, and Department of Criminal Justice Education Head Dr. Mariz P. Balquin represented USM to receive the award.
“Being recognized again as the Top 1 Performing School Nationwide is an incredible honor and a testament to the hard work, dedication, and excellence of our department,” Dr. Balquin said in an interview.
Dr. Balquin expressed her appreciation to USM family for its support and commitment to academic excellence. “To our students and my fellow faculty members, this milestone is a result of your perseverance, passion, and hard work. Let this recognition inspire us to continue striving for excellence and shaping future criminologists who will uphold justice and integrity. Congratulations to us all,” she ended.
This is the second time USM received the same recognition after earning a perfect 100% passing rate in the February 2024 Licensure Exam.
