Dr. Ruben L. Tagare, Jr., a professor from the University of Southern Mindanao (USM), graduated summa cum laude with a Doctor of Philosophy in Education, specializing in Physical Education and Sports, from Adamson University, Manila.
Dr. Tagare received the highest academic distinction during the university’s commencement exercises on February 20, 2025, held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Metro Manila.
He achieved a General Weighted Average of 1.10, making him the top-performing postgraduate student in his class.
A faculty member at USM’s Institute of Sports, Physical Education, and Recreation (ISPEAR), Dr. Tagare is also the Vice President of the USM Faculty Association. He has been actively involved in advancing sports education and research, contributing to the university’s academic and extracurricular programs.
USM lauded Dr. Tagare’s accomplishment, highlighting his dedication to academic excellence and his contributions to the field of physical education and sports.
