Dr. Jelly Grace B. Nonesa, Prof. Benedict D. Entera, and Prof. Clark Kneil Caoile from the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) attended the Hands-on Satellite Engineering Training Program on February 23-24, 2024, hosted by Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU).
In partnership with the University Space Engineering Consortium (UNISEC-Japan), Nihon University, DOST Region XI, and the Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships, the training program was the first in the Philippines aiming to promote satellite engineering in emerging space nations using the HEPTA-SAT Training Kit developed by Prof. Masahiko Yamazaki of Nihon University.
Among the esteemed lecturers who flew from Japan to Davao were Prof. Yamazaki, Ms. Kawashima Rei, Secretary General of UNISEC-Global, and Prof. Kamogawa Masashi of Shizuoka University.
