
USM-ESO Initiates 2nd Round of Talks with Arakan LGU for Skills Development Trainings

The University of Southern Mindanao- PALMA extension classes produced two hundred seventy-one graduates on its 3rd Commencement Exercises on June 30, 2025 at the Libungan Gymnasium, Libungan, Cotabato.
Among the 271 graduates, 41 earned degrees in Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED), 42 in Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSE) major in English, 30 in Bachelor of Agricultural Technology (BAT), 9 in Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, 11 in Bachelor of Veterinary Technology, 104 in Bachelor of Hospitality Management, and 3 completed the Certificate in Agricultural Science. A total of 30 graduates received Latin honors, one Magna Cum Laude and the rest Cum Laude.
Hon. Edwin L. Cruzado, the Congressman of the First District of Cotabato, graced the commencement exercises as the guest of honor and speaker. He shared a story of his journey of being a medical doctor. In his talk, he encouraged the students to be resilient despite every obstacle they face in college or in life. Moreover, he reminded the graduates that what matters now is not their current situation, but the direction they are heading, with determination to succeed.
Dr. Gideon S. Sumayo, the OIC Director of the campus, expressed his gratitude for the support of the USM Administration especially from President Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel, the members of the Board of Regents (BOR), faculty members and staff of the campus, stakeholders, and the leaders of Local Government Units involved in the ceremony.
