The University of Southern Mindanao hosted the benchmarking visit of the officials from Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) on March 5, 2026, highlighting its academic policies and student support programs.
Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel, President of USM, received the delegation together with Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Leorence C. Tandog and Director for Instruction Dr. Leonard Paleta.
During the visit, officials from DOrSU learned about several systems and policies currently implemented at USM. The discussions covered topics such as qualifications for academic awards, admission and retention policies, graduate school management, and programs that support students who face academic difficulties or discontinue their studies.
The exchange also allowed the visiting officials to raise questions and gain a deeper understanding of how these policies work in practice at USM. At the same time, both universities shared experiences in managing academic programs and providing support services for students.
The activity strengthened communication between the two institutions and opened opportunities for future collaboration in academic and institutional initiatives.
