The University of Southern Mindanao, Kidapawan City Campus (USM-KCC) celebrated its 56th Commencement Exercises on June 24, 2024, with six hundred ninety-nine (699) graduates.

For the first time in USM History, through the direction of USM President Francisco Gil N. Garcia, the graduates received original copies of their diplomas. Additionally, graduates awarded with Latin Honors received their original Certificate of Eligibility from the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

Hon. Phlorita A. Ridao, the Regional Director of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Regional Office XII, graced the graduation as the guest of honor and speaker.

In her speech, she encouraged the graduates not to settle for less and emphasized pursuing dreams with passion and perseverance. She added that the next phase after graduation will be full of overwhelming possibilities and doubts; hence, graduates should remember that they are better than who they were when they entered USM-KCC.

This year’s commencement exercises produced forty-two (42) graduates with Latin Honors, with Danica Lou E. Magsico from the Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSE) major in English as class valedictorian. She earned 1.391 General Weighted Average (GWA). Aside from being a Magna Cum Laude, Magsico also received the President Francisco Gil N. Garcia (FGNG) award for academic excellence and the UniFAST and Free Higher Education Excellence Award.

The USM Board of Regents, University President, Vice Presidents, Members of the Academic Council, USM KCC Faculty members, Staff, and proud parents and guardians attended the activity.
