Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel, USM President alongside Administrative Council members and University of Southern Mindanao-Kidapawan City Campus (USM-KCC) Management Council attended the culmination of the Kalivungan Festival of Cotabato Province, on September 1, 2025, at the Provincial Sports Complex in Amas, Kidapawan City.
During the program, Cotabato Governor Emmylou “Lala” Talino Mendoza emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration among Cotabateños in pursuing the shared vision of progress and peace for the province. She also expressed gratitude for the presence of various government agencies that continue to serve as partners in public service.
Meanwhile, BARMM Chief Minister Abdulraof A. Macacua served as the guest speaker and conveyed his appreciation for the invitation. He noted that the opportunity to speak at the event was a testament to Cotabato Province’s solidarity with BARMM in promoting quality service for all citizens, especially the tri-people communities in the mentioned areas.
With the theme “Cotabato Province @ 111: Malasakit at Serbisyong Totoo, Diwang Kalivungan, Diwang Cotabato”, the festival featured a colorful street dance competition with M’lang, Banisilan, Aleosan, Kabacan, Libungan, Pikit, and Carmen municipalities joining.
Beyond President Pimentel’s attendance, USM also actively participated in the Kalivungan festival by showcasing products from the university’s high-quality research and innovation through the Yaman ng Cotabato Travel and Trade Expo, an avenue to display products and services for Province’s stakeholders and partners.
