USM Delegates Receive Testimonial of Appreciation at 11th PITLC

The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) hosted the benchmarking activity for officials and staff of Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU) on November 21, 2024 focusing on procurement processes and institutional best practices.

Eimer M. Estilloso, the USM Vice President for Administration and Finance, and Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) Chairperson led the activity.

Also, Quenielyn Durendes, Chief Administrative Officer for Finance, Irvin Salise, Accountant III, Myrna Tan, BAC Secretariat, Danilo Villanueva, Administrative Officer V and staff of the Procurement Office joined the event.

The discussions covered critical topics such as the preparation of procurement documents, compliance with government regulations, and strategies for improving transparency and efficiency in procurement systems.

Prof. Jonas Robert Miranda, chairperson of the SNSU BAC, cited USM as an ideal model for the activity. “USM’s procurement practices demonstrate transparency and efficiency, which we aim to replicate to improve our own systems,” he said.

The benchmarking initiative provided SNSU participants with insights into USM’s systems, emphasizing automated tools, and effective document management. The delegation also toured USM’s facilities to observe its administrative and academic operations.

Both universities expressed optimism about potential future engagements to further improve performance in the education sector.
