USM-HM Department, SHARP Join AAHRMEI 24th National Convention

The Hospitality Management (HM) Department together with the Society of Hotel and Restaurant Progress (SHARP) of the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) participated in the 24th Annual National Convention of the Association of Administrators in Hospitality, Hotel, and Restaurant Management Educational Institutions (AAHRMEI) on December 5-7, 2024, at The Bellevue Resort, Panglao, Bohol.

Themed: “Innovative & Best Practices in Hospitality and Tourism Education to Bridge the Issues, Challenges, & Complex Perspectives of Current Trends,” the convention discussed topics that are relevant and timely in the hotel and management industry.

The assembly also addressed topics related to hospitality and tourism management, training programs, overseas student internship opportunities, graduate school concerns, student, and faculty development, curriculum enhancement, and other related matters.

Further, the USM delegation also visited Cebu Technological University’s (CTU) to conduct a comprehensive benchmarking activity on December 4, 2024.  The activity focused on identifying and sharing best practices of CTU operations particularly in instruction, research, and extension services.
