Three faculty members from the College of Agriculture (CA) of the University of Southern Mindanao (USM), namely, Dr. Jurhamid C. Imlan, Dr. Tamie Solpot, and Dr. Joan Sadoral are now full-fledged professors after their professorial lecture conducted at the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Central Office, Diliman, Quezon City on different scheduled dates in February 2024. 

Before being conferred as full-fledged professors, the applicants were assessed by the accreditation committee composed of experts in their respective disciplines. They were rated using the criteria and guidelines for reclassification for faculty members’ positions in state universities and colleges (SUCs) based on DBM-CHED Joint Circular No. 3, series of 2022. 

In rating the candidates, the following criteria were used. 

a) Depth and breadth of area of expertise (35%)

b) General knowledge/ current issues/ general issues (15%)

c) Communication skills/ articulation of conceptual ideas/ ability to express (10%)

d) Leadership potential/ ability to influence people (10%) 

e) Professional and technical assistance to government and non-government agencies (30%)

The passing rating is 85%, with no rating lower than 75% (average of the Evaluation and Accreditation Committee members).
