The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) through the Career and Counseling Department of Office of the Student Affairs , hosted a training and seminar on Psychological First Aid (PFA) for the officers and members of the Student Peer Facilitators Organization (SPFO) on April 26, 2024, at the Counseling and Career Department – Audiovisual Room (CCD-AVR), USM, Kabacan, Cotabato.
Prof. Khristine Joy B. Garcia, a faculty from the Psychology Department, served as the resource speaker of the program. She discussed the approaches on how to assist a person with traumatic experiences, natural disasters, public health emergencies, and personal crises.
The program, attended by 51 participants, aims to equip students with basic first aid as they were facilitators of the Group Growth Program (GGP) in the university.
