November 7, 2019Continuing the legacy of producing topnotchers, 2 BS Fisheries graduates of University of Southern Mindanao ranked 7th and 9th in the 2019 Fisheries Technologist Licensure Exam 2019.
Dominic B. Masecampo landed the 7th spot with a rating of 85.00% and Angelica Mae J. Pila took the 9th place with an average of 84.50%.
USM produced 17 fisheries technologists this year which gave USM a pass rate of 40.48% as opposed to the national passing rate of 34.79%. The first takers yielded a passing rate of 48.57%.
The Professional Regulation Commission announced the results on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 three days after the last examination day held in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legaspi, Lucena, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga.
During the 2017 licensure exam, Stephen Dave M. Dupo of USM got the 1st spot with 87.00% rating while Richer B. Tiad grabbed the 9th .spot with 84.50%.
Dr. Josephine Migalbin, dean of the College of Agriculture, commended the efforts of the Fisheries Department headed by its Chair Prof. Leonila Papalid and the faculty Ms. Cyra Escalera, Mr. Stephen Dave M. Dupo, Mr. Richer B. Tiad, and Ms. Pia Flores.
