The Department of Science and Technology Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) through its Socio-Economics Research Division is forming impact assessment (IA) teams nationwide to conduct IA of PCAARRD and DOST-supported project. Under this initiative, they invited various agencies including the University of Southern Mindanao to identify faculty to attend a series of trainings that were designed to build on one another.

Three USM faculty from different colleges were recommended the training. They are Dr. Angelo R. Agduma, D. Jennet R. Mag-aso, and Engr. Willie Jones B. Saliling. These faculty members are also expected to echo their learnings to USM faculty and contribute to a more rigorous system of impact assessment of USM research, development, and extension projects.

The training series included three 5-day impact assessment trainings conducted over three months.
