To further enhance the knowledge and skills of USM Security Personnel, Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel, the USM President courteously welcomed Fernando Cartagena, the Training Director of Black Eagle Security Training Academy along Police Captain Glorio Dumandan Jr, the Assistance Chief of Regional Civil Security Unit Region XII (RCSU XII) on April 21, 2025, at the Office of the President, USM, Kabacan, Cotabato.
During the visit, the discussion focused on conducting enhancement and refresher training for the security personnel of USM. The enhancement and refresher training is a PNP-regulated training and is set to be conducted inside the university in a span of nine days with other security personnel invited outside of the university.
Director Cartagena highlighted the necessity of continuously training the security force and their integral role in providing a safe environment. He also added that by providing training to the security personnel, it is also an act of abiding the law pursuant to Republic Act No. 11917, a law that strengthens the regulation of the private security services industry in the Philippines and establishes quality standards to ensure competent security personnel and professionals.
Present during the visit were Quenielyn L. Durendes, the Vice President for Administration and Finance, Prof. Mauricio J. Magallon. Jr., Project Management Office Director, Riniely M. Alejo, USM Security Officer II, Alfred P. Garcia, Administrative Aide III, and personnel from the Philippine National Police.
