The University Southern Mindanao (USM), through the Extension Services Office (ESO), spearheaded the launching program for the Training of Trainers for Cooperative Training Providers on April 30, 2024, at the USM Skyroom, USM, Kabacan, Cotabato.

The members of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) and the faculty members of the College of Business, Development Economics, and Management (CBDEM), along with the ESO Director Dr. Mary Joy Canolas and Staff, attended the activity.

Asec Abdulsalam S. Guinomla, Board Member III of the Head Advocacy, Education and Union Cooperatives Cluster Cooperative Development Authority, extended his gratitude to the USM President for taking a positive response for the collaboration of the state universities and colleges.

As we promote and fulfill the mandate stated in the R.A 11364, to collaborate with college and state universities for education and training of the cooperatives, I believe that USM will share its mission to CDA in reaching the communities.” he underscored.

Dr. Debbie Marie B. Versoza, the Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension (VPRDE), welcomed all the participants and expressed the university’s commitment to the program.

As a cooperative training provider, we envisioned that the university can further strengthen its ties with the community by extending our knowledge to cooperatives in which we know our mechanism can increase livelihood, income, and credit opportunities for farmers, fisherfolk, housewives, or other sectors of our society that we otherwise have limited economic avenues for growth.” She concluded.

Furthermore, Dr. Irving T. Fajarito Jr., the Dean of CBDEM, presented the training program content and plan as well as the resource speakers of the projected training.
