
USM Satellite SERDAC Holds Final Presentation of Policy Analysis, Research Proposals

The top management of the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) together with the deans of colleges, directors of offices, and heads of units, convened to craft the 2026 Operational Plan on January 13-14, 2026, at the University Commercial Building, USM, Kabacan, Cotabato.
Guided by the strategic plan crafted in 2025, the activity gathered the heads of units and offices to create the operational plan for 2026 and revisit areas that need attention and redirection. It was also conducted to adhere to additional statutory requirements as a Level IV university.
In his message, Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel, the USM President, explained the rationale of the planning for the year stating that USM need to have direction.
“We need to plan the best for the university, we also have to identify the things that we need to improve USM, and it is necessary to maintain our excellence as a university,” he explained.
“Last year, we have seen our strength and weaknesses… we will continue of where we are strong, but we need to correct our weaknesses. I believe that through dialogues, through negotiation, we can achieve our strategic goals,” he added.



These are the different groups during the two-day planning who their operational plan for 2026:
- Academic and Advanced Education
- Academic Support Group
- Research Development and Extension
- Resource Generation and Entrepreneurial Services
- General Administration and Support Group



Engr. Renel M. Alucilja, the Chairperson of the Performance Management Team (PMT) and the Planning and Development Office (PDO) Director, spearheaded the review, with support of the PMT members and PMT secretariat.
