
USM Associate Professors Selected for 2025 Future Science Leaders Forum

The Provincial Government of Cotabato and the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) have strengthened their partnership through a meeting aimed at expanding collaboration in research and innovation on September 30, 2025 at Office of the President, USM, Kabacan, Cotabato, ahead of an international educational visit to Singapore this month.
Municipal Councilor Jonathan M. Tabara, representing Governor Emmylou “Lala” J. Taliño-Mendoza along with other PLGU officials met with USM officials to discuss ongoing initiatives supporting research, development, and innovation in the province. He commended USM for its consistent efforts in producing competitive graduates and for being one of the provincial government’s top partners in advancing education and scientific excellence.
The delegation will be composed of Dr. Debbie Marie B. Versoza, Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension Services; Dr. Lorelyn Joy N. Turnos, faculty member of the College of Agriculture; and USM students and alumni, namely Vengie V. Mencias, John Paul A. Cabangal, Apple Grace Miles, John Rey Alejo, Max Dave Agudos, and Elinor Fernandez.
As part of the partnership, USM representatives are set to join an all-expense-paid educational visit to Singapore from October 20 to 25, 2025. The visit aims to expose educators, young innovators, and farmers to international practices in research, invention, and agricultural development.
