The College of Medicine of the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) ranked third among all medical schools affiliated with the Association of Philippine Medical Colleges – Student Network in the National Medical Quiz Bee, which took place on May 3, 2024, at Unilab, Pasig City.
As the sole State University in Mindanao to qualify for the national competition, USM’s victory in the Quiz Bee is noteworthy, especially since it is only in its third year of operation. The victory is a testament to the culture of excellence exhibited by USM students, both within and beyond the institution’s boundaries.
The winning team is composed of the USM medical students, namely Jemimah Guerrero, Keziah Guerrero, Kathleen Solsona, Aika Baya, and Francheska Jovellano, along with their academic coach, Dr. Hannah Marie Estaña-Catimbang.
