The College of Education (CED) of USM signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Muban Chombueng Rajabhat University (MCRU), an institution in Thailand, on January 15, 2026 through zoom teleconference.

The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) gives USM and MCRU students the chance to learn beyond their own classrooms. Through the partnership, students can observe real classroom settings and see how teaching happens in a different environment. Short cultural-sharing activities are also part of the program. This will allow students and teachers to share traditions, ideas, and experiences that build respect and understanding across cultures.

The agreement also opens opportunities for both students and teachers to join exposure and observation programs focused on teaching methods and academic practices. Faculty members and students take part in lectures, seminars, discussions, and cultural activities. This is to meaningful exchanges between the two institutions. Together, the universities will work closely to develop new programs and learning materials, strengthening their partnership and supporting their shared goal of becoming more globally connected.

“Today is not just about formally putting signatures on paper, but it is the beginning of partnership and starting our journey together,” Dr. Kriangwut Nilacupt, the Dean of the Faculty of Education at MCRU said in his speech.

Both of our universities firmly believe in the power of education to connect people, share ideas, and create opportunities. We are opening doors for students and faculty members to learn from one another,” he ended

Present during the MOA Signing from USM were Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel, USM President, Dr. Ma. Leslie Sales, the CED Dean, Prof. Bryan Lloyd P. Bretaña, the International Affairs Directors, Dr. Paul John B. Ongcoy, the Faculty Regent, and faculty members from the college.

Notably, both universities already signed a Memorandum of Understanding in November 2025.
