September 30, 2019The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) through the University Information and Communication Technology Office (UICTO) is now providing free Internet service or public wifi to the students and employees in USM Kabacan, Kidapawan, and Buluan campuses.
A total of fifteen (15) Wireless Access Points (WAP) was installed: 11 in USM-Kabacan, three in USM-KCC and one in USM-Buluan.
In the main campus, the users can access the internet in the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), College of Business, Development and Management (CBDEM), College of Education (CED), College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT), Institute of Middle East and Asian Studies (IMEAS), College of Agriculture (CA), College of Human Ecology and Food Sciences (CHEFS), Women’s Dorm, UICTO, Science & Technology Building, and Administration Building.
To ensure accessibility of the service, students can avail of the use of the internet and other facilities inside the UICTO Net Lab.
To access the free internet, students should register and create their portal account on a one-time registration only through the University website, www.usm.edu.ph. After the validation, students may log in through the portal and claim their internet access account. Employees may visit and claim their internet access account in the University ICT Office.
How to avail Internet account?
- Open the University website (www.usm.edu.ph)
- Click the link Student Portal
- Enter your ID number and password
- Under the Student Dashboard menu, select Internet Access
- Finally, Click the button “Claim Internet Account”
Note: Only one account per semester is allowed.
