Kame Ramona Edjz Lozare Lamata, a Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSE) Major in Mathematics graduate of the University of Southern Mindanao (USM), ranked 10th in the September 2024 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT) as announced by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on December 13, 2024. 

Lamata shared that she built effective routines, chose conducive study environment, and surrounded herself with supportive group of people as part of her preparation for the exam. 

The Magna Cum Laude spent her first two years in college in a blended learning setup. She said that despite this, USM lived up to its promise and ensured that academic needs were met. 

In an interview, the Outstanding Academic Achiever of the 25th Gawad Parangal, expressed her appreciation to the USM President for the quality education, amidst challenges, that made a lasting impact in her journey. 

When asked of her message for the next LEPT takers, she underscored: “Dreams only come true when paired with hard work and preparation. Make sure your efforts align with your prayers, as success favors those who are ready for the opportunities they seek.”

“True success is about building character, not just achieving goals. By staying honest and giving your all, you’re investing in a foundation of habits and values that will serve you for a lifetime.” She concluded. 

At present, Lamata is a faculty member of the University Laboratory School (ULS), where she teaches Mathematics subjects. She is among the 131 USM passers in the recently concluded LEPT- Secondary level. She earned 92.60% overall score making her join the list of examinees who garnered ten highest places in the said exam.
