Anchored on its goal to improve academic infrastructure and enhance the learning environment, the University of Southern Mindanao (USM), through the Physical Plant and Development Services Office (PPDSO), conducted turnover ceremonies for the newly improved building of the University Information and Technology Office (UICTO) and the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences (CMAHS) for their new facilities on March 12, 2024.

First, the revamped UICTO building boasts four additional rooms, including a technical room, two virtual rooms for online classes or Zoom meetings, and one dedicated space in preparation for the Cisco Academy laboratory. With the existing rooms for faculty and student laboratories, the office now offers six rooms.

Then, CMAHS celebrated the expansion of its facilities by increasing the carrying capacity for Nursing & Health Programs by repairing the existing building. Two new rooms on the third floor are poised to become vital learning hubs for medical education.

During the turnover ceremony, Prof. Eugene Ranjo, the director of UICTO, expressed gratitude to President Francisco Gil Garcia and all stakeholders and emphasized the significance of the infrastructure enhancements to meet the evolving demands of information technology education.

Ms. Quenielyn Durendes, the Finance and Management Services Director, extended gratitude to everyone involved in the successful infrastructure improvement.

University President Garcia, Dir. Renel M. Alucilja, Dir. Orlando O. Forro, Dr. Dahlia Arancel, Prof. Ranjo, Dir. Durendes, members of the University Infrastructure Project Monitoring and Evaluation Team, (UIPMET), faculty, and students graced the ceremony.

The enhanced facilities aim to offer a more enriching academic experience, equipping students for success in their chosen fields.
