USM Receives 2.6 Million Pesos for Tulong Dunong Program

Three alumni of the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) received the Philippine Society of Agricultural Biosystems Engineer (PSABE) Outstanding Engineer awards for Region XII on January 25, 2025, at the Venue 88, General Santos City.
Engr. Renel M. Alucilja, the Planning and Development Office (PDO) Director and a faculty member from the College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT) USM was awarded PSABE Outstanding Engineer in the Academe.
Additionally, Engr. Elena E. Ragonton, aUSM alumna, received the Regional PSABE Outstanding Engineer in the Local Government Unit 2025. Engr. Ragonton is the acting provincial agriculturist of the Cotabato Province.
Also, ASEAN Engr. Erwin Arguelles, received PSABE Outstanding Engineer in the national government agencies. Engr. Arguelles is the OIC-Chief of the Field Operations Division of the Department of Agriculture- Regional Field Office XII (DA-RFO XII).
In 2024, USM Alumni namely, Engr. Sammy P. Malawan of DOST XII, Engr. Willie Jones Saliling of USM, and Engr. Agnes L. Du of PLGU Sarangani Province were recognized in the same convention.
The election of the Board of Trustees of the PSABE Region XII also took place during the convention.
